My Space

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I finally got out of the house for a little while...YAY !!! I think it had been weeks since I went outside, due to my health issues the weather was just not good for me...too much Sahara Dust in the air.  The ride did me well though.
Today, I have some pics of some sketches I'm working on for some new cards, prints, etc. coming soon.  The sandman doesn't cooperate with me at night and rarely visits, so I sit and sketch and wait 'til I get tired.  I'm really excited about the cards on sale at Gifts of Compassion store at Etsy.  Really hoping that it touches the hearts of those who need it.  I can't tell you how much love and passion goes into each of these. All of the ladies are amazing, so give someone a Gift made with lots of love.
Now, last year we had a hurricane come through and I'm sure some of you remember that my studio got flooded and my friend Michele through the awesome site of Roses on My Table took up a collection and some of my fellow artists sent me boxes and boxes of awesomeness..!!!!  Here is where my studio stands right now thanks to many of YOU.....I need to clean it up. I'm in the process of that today so, sometime this week I will post pics of the organized space. It's amazing how much "awesomeness" one can accumulate simply because it does the soul good :-))))).  Have a great day and week...Blessings to all.!!!

Here are some sketches in my book I've been working on...;

Gifts of Compassion

Hi, there are things in life that sometimes get in the way of what we want to accomplish.  This has been the case for me on and off for quite sometime.  I have been painting again and have many ideas thought out (in my head)..lol.  That may be the case for some of you but not all of you. I an grateful for all of you who are constantly coming back to see if I'm still here and doing OK. I am very, very in debt to you and will try and keep doing better.
On the good side,  I am part of a group of women lead by Sung-Hee (Regina) Hong on a brand new Blog called Beauty of Sorrow.  We are dedicated to creating postcards for those who are in need of a pick-me up. If you know of someone who is ill, depressed , lonely, just needing a gesture of kindness these cards are just beautiful for this.  We all suffer from something ourselvesand our stories are posted on the blog.  Just hop on over and check it out for yourselves.  Regina, does a very good job at expressing what we are all about.
Last week there were a bunch of cards printed and posted...they are being sold on Etsy....this is a pic of the first batch.  You can see them individually on the site or on the Blog.

The second batch will be posted tomorrow and here is a picture of those....you can see them all on the site sometime tomorrow.

This is just the beginning, there are many more things coming down the road and we are counting on
you to help us all on our journey.  We all know that art is a wonderful and cathartic expression that
allows us to release and express ourselves in ways that truly touch, not only ours but the souls of others.

I am taking the LifeBook class as some of you may know with Tamara Laporte and it has been a great
ride.  It's still ongoing and here are a few of the projects I've created so far...

I'm also over at Artful Gathering taking a class with Jodi Ohl called "Sweet Art".  The first session
is over and the second starts very soon.  If you are interested there is still time to join in. Many, wonderful classes being given there.
So much I want to say right now but I am lacking in words.  Hopefully tomorrow I will be back with a post showing you all the brand new postcards.  Til then, Blessings to all of you....my life is truly fuller with all of you ....thanks so much...<3<3<3

It Shouldn't Matter....really !!!!

Hi everyone, yes it's been a while since I've posted.  It's been about three months and lots of things have changed but lots have remained the same.  The holidays came and went and it was really great to spend time with friends and family.  It's been a tough road for me physically and emotionally but I am hanging in there and doing the best I can.
To bring you all up to date, I am created some new pieces , am taking the LifeBook class with Tamara, doing the swaps at Roses on My Table, working with Monica Zuniga and doing Pet Dreams with Ady.
I think I'm in over my head but then again, I usually work pretty well under pressure. I'm totally loving LifeBook and it's something I'm almost totally up to date with and it makes me proud...!!! Learning all these awesome new techniques is just so much fun. I love to play and get my hands dirty. I just have one little peeve.....Why is it that when you show someone (family) something you've created they are so prone to critique your work as if they have some kind of degree....lol..!!  This is especially true if it's some kind of self-portrait . I thought it was a likeness and not a photograph.  I'm sorry I'm venting but it happened to me today and something that usually doesn't phase me just made me angry....OK here is the page I did for the class...I like how it turned out and I'm not done with it yet either.  What do you guys think?

This one is also for LifeBook ...still need to add my quote..

These are my latest tags for the swap at ROMT...
I've got to show you all of the mandalas I've created.  I'm  working on putting them all in an album. They were just absolutely so much fun to create.  If you haven't created any, you should really try it.

I was checking out some pics that were posted from CHA and was drooling over all of the new
art supplies coming on the market soon.  Love the Suzi Blue stamps, Donna Dewberry's Geltatto's and she has a gorgeous set with everything you need to journal with.  It's too bad you need so much money to get all these goodies but there's absolutely no reason why you can't create art with what you already have.  I try to add to my stuff little by little and I know I have more than I need.
Gotta tell you all I have a huge stash of scrapbooking magazines which I don't really use anymore and I'm thinking of having a giveaway on my blog.  If you're interested, leave a comment and I will gather some up and put a pic out so you can see the issues.
Well, thanks for sticking it out with me , glad I was able to blog today.
Sending you all Blessings and hugs...take care. !!!!

Playing Catch-up

Yes,  I've been a busy little bee these last few weeks. Trying to catch up on all of the great online courses and classes and workshops going on has been overwhelming to say the least.  I'm just happy that my physical body has been cooperating with me lately and I've been on a roll.  OK, to begin, over at Roses on My Table I've been working on some pennants and having a blast. I've created two so far and I'm on my third.  It's going to be a Christmas theme. At the same time, we were working on some shrines made from small tins and I was a little behind but I finally caught up and I'm on my second one...woohoo. !!!
 Roses, is a place where I feel absolutely at home. The ladies are pretty amazing and Zinnia,  the owner and instructor just can't do no wrong...lol.  You've got to go and check out all the things happening over at Roses.  Here are a few pics of my projects there;

Pennants;

Here is the small tin Shrine I created with a photo of my grandparents. The inside is dimensional but it's kind of difficult to see from the photo.  I really loved making this.

Tomorrow, over at Willowing & Friends begins a free class on how to create Mandalas.  I can't wait for this one. I know it's going to be lots of fun.

Now, last but certainly not least Wild Precious Studios is run by Effy Wild.  The awesomeness of awesomeness ...lol.   She is truly a down to earth wonderful soul.  She is offering a course on the book
Life is a Verb which happens to be a favorite of mine.  I'd bet you if you gave yourself the opportunity to grab the book and hop on over you would also consider it one of your favs.  So come on and join the group..

Effy has many things going on over at the studio.  There is something for everyone and she is definitely hands on in every things she offers.  You will truly love it there.

On another note, Friday, 11-11-11 my DD celebrated her 39th birthday..!!!!!!  We all went to a really nice restaurant and had a great birthday dinner and celebration.  OK, now I'm feeling very old..ugggh. !!!  Here are a few pics..enjoy..

OOOH, that cheesecake was soooooooooooo good.  Haha, see you guys soon...Blessings to all. !!
