Playing Catch-up

Yes,  I've been a busy little bee these last few weeks. Trying to catch up on all of the great online courses and classes and workshops going on has been overwhelming to say the least.  I'm just happy that my physical body has been cooperating with me lately and I've been on a roll.  OK, to begin, over at Roses on My Table I've been working on some pennants and having a blast. I've created two so far and I'm on my third.  It's going to be a Christmas theme. At the same time, we were working on some shrines made from small tins and I was a little behind but I finally caught up and I'm on my second one...woohoo. !!!
 Roses, is a place where I feel absolutely at home. The ladies are pretty amazing and Zinnia,  the owner and instructor just can't do no  You've got to go and check out all the things happening over at Roses.  Here are a few pics of my projects there;

Here is the small tin Shrine I created with a photo of my grandparents. The inside is dimensional but it's kind of difficult to see from the photo.  I really loved making this.

Tomorrow, over at Willowing & Friends begins a free class on how to create Mandalas.  I can't wait for this one. I know it's going to be lots of fun.

Now, last but certainly not least Wild Precious Studios is run by Effy Wild.  The awesomeness of awesomeness   She is truly a down to earth wonderful soul.  She is offering a course on the book
Life is a Verb which happens to be a favorite of mine.  I'd bet you if you gave yourself the opportunity to grab the book and hop on over you would also consider it one of your favs.  So come on and join the group..

Effy has many things going on over at the studio.  There is something for everyone and she is definitely hands on in every things she offers.  You will truly love it there.

On another note, Friday, 11-11-11 my DD celebrated her 39th birthday..!!!!!!  We all went to a really nice restaurant and had a great birthday dinner and celebration.  OK, now I'm feeling very old..ugggh. !!!  Here are a few pics..enjoy..

OOOH, that cheesecake was soooooooooooo good.  Haha, see you guys soon...Blessings to all. !!

Loving the Glitter.

So, how was your Sunday ?  I hope it was great.  My Sunday was spent here relaxing at home.  Oh, I was totally exhausted and woke up late , had some breakfast and went right back to bed.  I'd never seen the movie "Sherlock Holmes" with Robert Downey Jr. so I saw it today.  I gotta say, I really enjoyed it. It was a little long but I think Robert Downey is a great actor.  Would definitely recommend it.
I'm taking a class over at Hands and Heart with Monica and it's just fantastic.  I can't wait to start experimenting with all the techniques that I have learned so far.  Mixed Media truly rocks.
Worked a little on a mixed media piece I'm doing .  I don't know what I will name it yet but I'm having fun doing it....Halloween is near...!!!  I'm working on a sugar skull for a prompt at Wild Precious too. So many wonderful sites with so many awesome teachers and artists.  What would I be doing if I hadn't found them all...:-o.
So sad we lost Steve Jobs this week. He definitely is the reason we all can do what we do here every day.  May he RIP..<3
Here is the piece I'm working is almost done.

It's worked on a piece of Bristol paper 9x12, with watercolors, watercolor crayons, colored pencils and
sakura marker pens.  Oh, and of course the glitter is stickles.  Have an awesome week guys...tty soon...Blessings to all. !!!

Feeling The Muse ...

Hi, I am so happy that my video got so many awesome responses from all of you.  My email and all the sites I am part of have been amazing.  So much so, that I am definitely feeling the muse again. I've begun doing my daily practice sketches in the evening and I'm made a few "Dollies" inspired by Ady's class over at Dolldreams.  I've also been participating over at Wild Precious COA (church of art) on Sundays where Effy does a livestream and together we create art. My room is almost ready and soon I will definitely be showing you a picture of it finished. In the meantime here are a few of the things I've been working on lately.

There pieces are inspired from Ady's class over at Doll these cuties. I am still working on them so bare with me.

These are my practice sketches I've been doing late at night, sometimes while I'm talking to my SS Michele way into the night.

This one is a tower painting in my journal inspired from a class over at A Lovely Dream with Suzi Blu.
I still have lots of catching up to do with all of my projects but I am feeling good that I am able to feel well enough to start "creating" again.  I've met some amazing people here . I never thought this would be such a Healing journey for me.  I am practicing on my video skills so I will be able to share my process with all of you.

Hope you all have a wonderful week, it's already October...crazy huh?  Christmas is just around the corner...WOW.   Blessings lovely people....Big Hugs...Yolanda

Kindred Spirits Project

Hey, how have you all been doing? I've been really lousy at posting lately. The good news is that I've been actually CREATING...YAY. !!! In between visits from the kids, my aching joints I've actually done something. I can't believe how many workshops and classes are out there these days. It's really hard to decide which ones to take. I've also been doing a lot of reading which I had slacked off of for awhile there. If you haven't read the book, Space Between Us..can't remember the author, you really would enjoy it. I'm reading , Room right now. It's keeping my interest so far.
Well, over at Roses on My Table, they have a project going on for one of the ladies who is dealing with health issues. We wanted to brighten up her mood and let her know how much she is thought of and prayed for, so we have gotten quite a few members to create a page for her that will be made into a book and sent to her. You should see the beautiful work these ladies have created for her. My contribution to this project is right here;

front page.

back page.

My last post I mentioned I was working with a new technique which I totally fell in love with. I began making small pieces and then I decided I wanted to go bigger. This piece is about 36 x 24 and it is totally done on wood.

I've got a few others to post but I will wait til tomorrow since it is my last day with Paulette Insalls calls Divine Romance. Awesome class, very unique experience.
Well, take care ladies..stay busy and create ....Blessings. !!!

A New Love

Hey, it's been some time I've posted. It wasn't my intention to stay away so long but there have been many reasons for my delay. I'm hoping that you all have had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. It's been kind of blah out this way for the past few weeks actually and I think my mood has been matched by the weather.
Some good things have happened though. My grandson took his first steps all alone on May 22nd ...YAY..!!! They had been on vacation and the little sweetie decided to wait til he got back to grandma's to go off on his own.
I've been taking a few workshops online . One of them is over at Roses On My Table. It is such a wonderful place to find awesome projects and Zinnia is such a fantastic teacher. Her latest workshop is using beeswax and oil pastels on your image. Well, I've got to say, I have found a new love. There is something about the smell of the wax and the texture it gives my pieces that just makes me HAPPY. I can't stop myself from looking for images to use and my ideas just don't fit in my head
Here are a few of the pieces I've worked on and am working on at the moment.

I am also taking a wonderful workshop with Paula Insall "Divine Romance". This is a workshop that helps you to channel God's work through your art. It has been a very positive experience for me so far and I recommend it to all who would love to project your feelings through your art.

This is what I have so far..

I am also doing my morning pages from "The Artist"s Way" and I need a new book. I found this juicy fat book in my stash but didn't really like the cover. What would any of you do ???? Of course, transform it to your personal liking and that is what I did....what do you all think? Still have the back to do but here is it..

So, I have lots of ideas floating around in my head and am thinking of sharing some ideas with all of you via videos...Is there anything you would like to see or have anything you'd like to share with me just leave me a note and I will get back to you. Happy Creating to you all and many Blessings..!!!!!
